Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will take care of itself. Each day has enough troubles of its own.Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day’s own evil is sufficient.
Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you and utter all kinds of calumnies against you for my sake.Blessed are you when people reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
“But you,” he said to them, “who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
Do you suppose that I cannot appeal to my Father for help and he will not immediately send me more than twelve legions of angels?Or do you think that I couldn’t ask my Father, and he would even now send me more than twelve legions of angels?
Jesus answered, “As it is written: ‘Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of God.’ ”But he answered, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of God’s mouth.’”
John’s clothing was made of camel’s hair, with a leather loincloth around his waist, and his food consisted of locusts and wild honey.Now John himself wore clothing made of camel’s hair with a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey.
Go and learn what this text means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ I have come to call not the righteous but sinners.But you go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,’ for I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
Everyone who hears these words of mine and acts in accordance with them will be like a wise man who constructed his house on a rock foundation.Everyone therefore who hears these words of mine and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on a rock.
But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them. For it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs.”But Jesus said, “Allow the little children, and don’t forbid them to come to me; for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to ones like these.”
Therefore, I tell you that every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men.
What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his very life? Or what can he give in exchange for his life?For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his life? Or what will a man give in exchange for his life?
And I say to you: You are Peter, and on this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of the netherworld will not prevail against it.I also tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my assembly, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it.
When you pray do not go on babbling endlessly as the pagans do, for they believe that they are more likely to be heard because of their many words.In praying, don’t use vain repetitions as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking.
Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my heavenly Father.Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
And the good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the entire world as a testimony offered to all the nations. And then the end will come.This Good News of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world for a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.
Have no fear of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, fear the one who can destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.Don’t be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.
This is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.’Pray like this: ‘Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.’
If your brother wrongs you, go and take up the matter with him when the two of you are alone. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over.If your brother sins against you, go, show him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained back your brother.
While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after he had pronounced the blessing, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take this and eat; this is my body.”As they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks for it, and broke it. He gave to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.”
Jesus replied, “If you wish to be perfect, go, sell your possessions, and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”
Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not a single letter, not even a tiny portion of a letter, will disappear from the Law until all things have been accomplished.For most certainly, I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not even one smallest letter or one tiny pen stroke shall in any way pass away from the law, until all things are accomplished.
If he refuses to listen to them, report it to the Church. And if he refuses to listen to the Church, treat him as you would a Gentile or a tax collector.If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the assembly. If he refuses to hear the assembly also, let him be to you as a Gentile or a tax collector.
Gaze upon the birds in the sky. They do not sow or reap or store in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of far greater value than they?See the birds of the sky, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they?
This must not be so with you. Instead, whoever wishes to be great among you must be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you must be your servant.It shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant. Whoever desires to be first among you shall be your bondservant.

The seed sown among thorns is the one who hears the word, but worldly cares and the lure of riches choke the word and it bears no fruit.What was sown among the thorns, this is he who hears the word, but the cares of this age and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.
