For they did not yet understand the Scripture, that He must rise from the dead.
He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’He is not here, but He has risen. Bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.Bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so must you do also.
A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.A person of too many friends comes to ruin, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave.It is not this way among you, but whoever wants to become prominent among you shall be your servant, and whoever desires to be first among you shall be your slave.
Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.For this reason you must be ready as well; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think He will.
If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also; if anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.
Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.Nevertheless, as for you individually, each husband is to love his own wife the same as himself, and the wife must see to it that she respects her husband.
But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints.But sexual immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be mentioned among you, as is proper among saints.
And He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, “If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all.”And sitting down, He called the twelve and said to them, “If anyone wants to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all.”
Let not him who eats despise him who does not eat, and let not him who does not eat judge him who eats; for God has received him.The one who eats is not to regard with contempt the one who does not eat, and the one who does not eat is not to judge the one who eats, for God has accepted him.
For “He who would love life And see good days, Let him refrain his tongue from evil, And his lips from speaking deceit. Let him turn away from evil and do good; Let him seek peace and pursue it.”For, “The one who desires life, to love and see good days, Must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit. He must turn away from evil and do good; He must seek peace and pursue it.”
If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns to you, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him.If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.Each one must do just as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
For the customs of the peoples are futile; For one cuts a tree from the forest, The work of the hands of the workman, with the ax. They decorate it with silver and gold; They fasten it with nails and hammers So that it will not topple. They are upright, like a palm tree, And they cannot speak; They must be carried, Because they cannot go by themselves. Do not be afraid of them, For they cannot do evil, Nor can they do any good.For the customs of the peoples are futile; For it is wood cut from the forest, The work of the hands of a craftsman with a cutting tool. They decorate the idol with silver and gold; They fasten it with nails and hammers So that it will not totter. They are like a scarecrow in a cucumber field, And they cannot speak; They must be carried, Because they cannot walk! Do not fear them, For they can do no harm, Nor can they do any good.
Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.Therefore you shall be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.Love must be free of hypocrisy. Detest what is evil; cling to what is good.
He answered and said to them, “He who has two tunics, let him give to him who has none; and he who has food, let him do likewise.”And he would answer and say to them, “The one who has two tunics is to share with the one who has none; and the one who has food is to do likewise.”
Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.”And He was saying to them all, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Me.”
So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.You know this, my beloved brothers and sisters. Now everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger.

When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.”And He summoned the crowd together with His disciples, and said to them, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me.”
