My pleasure (2/4)

Hear my prayer, O Lord; do not be deaf to my cry or ignore my weeping. For I am a wayfarer before you, a nomad like all my ancestors.Hear my prayer, O Lord! Listen to my cries for help! Don’t ignore my tears. For I am your guest— a traveler passing through, as my ancestors were before me.
In my anguish I cried out to the Lord and called to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice, and my cry to him reached his ears.But in my distress I cried out to the Lord; yes, I prayed to my God for help. He heard me from his sanctuary; my cry to him reached his ears.
If you would seriously consider my reproof, I would pour out my thoughts to you and make my precepts known to you.Come and listen to my counsel. I’ll share my heart with you and make you wise.
In God alone is my soul at rest; it is from him that my salvation comes.I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from him.
In God alone be at rest, O my soul; it is from him that my hope comes.Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him.
Whoever feeds upon my flesh and drinks my blood dwells in me and I dwell in him.Anyone who eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him.
Observe my Sabbaths and stand in awe before my sanctuary. I am the Lord.You must keep my Sabbath days of rest and show reverence for my sanctuary. I am the Lord.
O Lord, all my longing is known to you, and my sighs are not hidden from you.You know what I long for, Lord; you hear my every sigh.
If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.
I lifted up my voice in prayer to him; his praise was on my tongue.For I cried out to him for help, praising him as I spoke.
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom should I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom should I be afraid?The Lord is my light and my salvation— so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble?
Then I acknowledged my sin to you, and I made no attempt to conceal my guilt. I said, “I will confess my offenses to the Lord,” and you removed the guilt of my sin. SelahFinally, I confessed all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the Lord.” And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone.
As long as I remained silent, my body wasted away as the result of my groaning throughout the day.When I refused to confess my sin, my body wasted away, and I groaned all day long.
But as for me, I will look to the Lord. I place my hope in God my savior; my God will hear me.As for me, I look to the Lord for help. I wait confidently for God to save me, and my God will certainly hear me.
By this is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit and become my disciples.When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father.
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord.“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.”
You are truly my rock and my fortress; for the sake of your name, lead and guide me.You are my rock and my fortress. For the honor of your name, lead me out of this danger.
The Lord is my portion, I say to myself; therefore, I will place my hope in him.I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!”
Why are you so disheartened, O my soul? Why do you sigh within me? Place your hope in God; for I will once again praise him, my Savior and my God.Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again— my Savior and my God!
When my anxious thoughts multiplied, your comfort filled my soul with joy.When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer.
But you, O Lord, are a shield to protect me; you are my glory and the one who raises my head high.But you, O Lord, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high.
If you love me, you will keep my commandments.If you love me, obey my commandments.
Your statutes are my everlasting heritage; they are the very joy of my heart.Your laws are my treasure; they are my heart’s delight.
I stretch out my hands to you; my soul thirsts for you like a parched land. SelahI lift my hands to you in prayer. I thirst for you as parched land thirsts for rain.
Listen, my son, and take my words to heart, and the years of your life will be multiplied.My child, listen to me and do as I say, and you will have a long, good life.

Surely God is my helper; the Lord is the one who sustains me.But God is my helper. The Lord keeps me alive!

“I am the bread of life.

When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
nor will the waters engulf you.
When you walk through fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not consume you.
