| For they said to you, “In the last time there will be scoffers, indulging their own ungodly lusts.” It is these worldly people, devoid of the Spirit, who are causing divisions. | How they told you that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts. These are sensual persons, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit. |
| But those who want to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. | But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. |
| Be careful then how you live, not as unwise people but as wise, making the most of the time, because the days are evil. | See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. |
| Therefore I tell you, people will be forgiven for every sin and blasphemy, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. | Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. |
| Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. | The vine withers, the fig tree droops. | A highway shall be there, and it shall be called the Holy Way; the unclean shall not travel on it, but it shall be for God's people; no traveler, not even fools, shall go astray. | A highway shall be there, and a road, And it shall be called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean shall not pass over it, But it shall be for others. Whoever walks the road, although a fool, Shall not go astray. |

| Do not let loyalty and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. | Now therefore, if you obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession out of all the peoples. | By insolence the heedless make strife, but wisdom is with those who take advice. | By pride comes nothing but strife, But with the well-advised is wisdom. |

| Pursue peace with everyone, and the holiness without which no one will see the Lord. | Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord. |
