For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Pay to all what is due them—taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, honor to whom honor is due.Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.
How much better to get wisdom than gold! To get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver. How much better to get wisdom than gold! And to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.
But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to make this freewill offering? For all things come from you, and of your own have we given you.But who am I, and who are my people, That we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from You, And of Your own we have given You.
As for those who in the present age are rich, command them not to be haughty, or to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but rather on God who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy.
His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and trustworthy slave; you have been trustworthy in a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.’His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’
Remove far from me falsehood and lying; give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the food that I need.Remove falsehood and lies far from me; Give me neither poverty nor riches— Feed me with the food allotted to me.
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, and in their eagerness to be rich some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pains. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
