Proverbs 31:25–26 (6/6)

Do not abandon your friend or your father’s friend, And do not go to your brother’s house on the day of your disaster; Better is a neighbor who is near than a brother far away.Do not forsake your friend or the friend of your parent; do not go to the house of your kindred in the day of your calamity. Better is a neighbor who is nearby than kindred who are far away.
A prudent person sees evil and hides himself; But the naive proceed, and pay the penalty.The clever see danger and hide; but the simple go on, and suffer for it.
As iron sharpens iron, So one person sharpens another.Iron sharpens iron, and one person sharpens the wits of another.
As in water a face reflects the face, So the heart of a person reflects the person.Just as water reflects the face, so one human heart reflects another.
One who turns his ear away from listening to the Law, Even his prayer is an abomination.When one will not listen to the law, even one's prayers are an abomination.
One who conceals his wrongdoings will not prosper, But one who confesses and abandons them will find compassion.No one who conceals transgressions will prosper, but one who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.
A fool always loses his temper, But a wise person holds it back.A fool gives full vent to anger, but the wise quietly holds it back.
A person’s pride will bring him low, But a humble spirit will obtain honor.A person's pride will bring humiliation, but one who is lowly in spirit will obtain honor.
The fear of man brings a snare, But one who trusts in the Lord will be protected.The fear of others lays a snare, but one who trusts in the Lord is secure.
Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.
Keep deception and lies far from me, Give me neither poverty nor riches; Feed me with the food that is my portion.Remove far from me falsehood and lying; give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the food that I need.
