A fool rejects his father’s discipline, But he who complies with rebuke is sensible.A fool spurns a parent’s discipline, but whoever heeds correction shows prudence.

Before destruction the heart of a person is haughty, But humility goes before honor.Before a downfall the heart is haughty, but humility comes before honor.

A person’s gift makes room for him And brings him before great people.A gift opens the way and ushers the giver into the presence of the great.
