Proverbs 31:25–26 (6/6)

Never abandon a friend— either yours or your father’s. When disaster strikes, you won’t have to ask your brother for assistance. It’s better to go to a neighbor than to a brother who lives far away.Do not abandon your friend or your father’s friend, And do not go to your brother’s house on the day of your disaster; Better is a neighbor who is near than a brother far away.
A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences.A prudent person sees evil and hides himself; But the naive proceed, and pay the penalty.
As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend. As iron sharpens iron, So one person sharpens another.
As a face is reflected in water, so the heart reflects the real person. As in water a face reflects the face, So the heart of a person reflects the person.
God detests the prayers of a person who ignores the law.One who turns his ear away from listening to the Law, Even his prayer is an abomination.
People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy. One who conceals his wrongdoings will not prosper, But one who confesses and abandons them will find compassion.
Fools vent their anger, but the wise quietly hold it back.A fool always loses his temper, But a wise person holds it back.
Pride ends in humiliation, while humility brings honor.A person’s pride will bring him low, But a humble spirit will obtain honor.
Fearing people is a dangerous trap, but trusting the Lord means safety. The fear of man brings a snare, But one who trusts in the Lord will be protected.
Every word of God proves true. He is a shield to all who come to him for protection.Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.
First, help me never to tell a lie. Second, give me neither poverty nor riches! Give me just enough to satisfy my needs.Keep deception and lies far from me, Give me neither poverty nor riches; Feed me with the food that is my portion.
