Psalm 71 (3/9)

I have rejoiced in your laws as much as in riches.I rejoice in following your statutes as one rejoices in great riches.
I have chosen to be faithful; I have determined to live by your regulations.I have chosen the way of faithfulness; I have set my heart on your laws.
Give me an eagerness for your laws rather than a love for money!Turn my heart toward your statutes and not toward selfish gain.
I will walk in freedom, for I have devoted myself to your commandments.I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts.
I will hurry, without delay, to obey your commands.I will hasten and not delay to obey your commands.
I will never forget your commandments, for by them you give me life.I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have preserved my life.
Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.
Your laws are my treasure; they are my heart’s delight.Your statutes are my heritage forever; they are the joy of my heart.
You are my refuge and my shield; your word is my source of hope. You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word.
The teaching of your word gives light, so even the simple can understand. The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.
Guide my steps by your word, so I will not be overcome by evil.Direct my footsteps according to your word; let no sin rule over me.
The very essence of your words is truth; all your just regulations will stand forever. All your words are true; all your righteous laws are eternal.
Those who love your instructions have great peace and do not stumble.Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble.
Rescue me, O Lord, from liars and from all deceitful people.Save me, Lord, from lying lips and from deceitful tongues.
I look up to the mountains— does my help come from there? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth!I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber. He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber.
The Lord keeps you from all harm and watches over your life. The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever. The Lord will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
Our help is from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. Our help is in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
Unless the Lord builds a house, the work of the builders is wasted. Unless the Lord protects a city, guarding it with sentries will do no good.Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.
How joyful are those who fear the Lord— all who follow his ways!Blessed are all who fear the Lord, who walk in obedience to him.
From the depths of despair, O Lord, I call for your help. Hear my cry, O Lord. Pay attention to my prayer.Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord; Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy.
I am counting on the Lord; yes, I am counting on him. I have put my hope in his word.I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope.
How wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony! How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!
The Lord will work out his plans for my life— for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me.The Lord will vindicate me; your love, Lord, endures forever— do not abandon the works of your hands.
O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.

You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord. Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely.
