Right and wrong (4/4)

Make me know Your ways, Lord; Teach me Your paths.Show me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow.
The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous, And His ears are toward their cry for help. The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right; his ears are open to their cries for help.
For You created my innermost parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to You, because I am awesomely and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well. You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.
For with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.
Ill-gotten gains do not benefit, But righteousness rescues from death.Tainted wealth has no lasting value, but right living can save your life.
There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the One who is able to save and to destroy; but who are you, judging your neighbor?God alone, who gave the law, is the Judge. He alone has the power to save or to destroy. So what right do you have to judge your neighbor?
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor those habitually drunk, nor verbal abusers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God.
Now then, do away with the foreign gods which are in your midst, and incline your hearts to the Lord, the God of Israel.“All right then,” Joshua said, “destroy the idols among you, and turn your hearts to the Lord, the God of Israel.”
Riches do not benefit on the day of wrath, But righteousness rescues from death.Riches won’t help on the day of judgment, but right living can save you from death.
And I heard every created thing which is in heaven, or on the earth, or under the earth, or on the sea, and all the things in them, saying, “To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be the blessing, the honor, the glory, and the dominion forever and ever.”And then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea. They sang: “Blessing and honor and glory and power belong to the one sitting on the throne and to the Lamb forever and ever.”
Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.Who are you to condemn someone else’s servants? Their own master will judge whether they stand or fall. And with the Lord’s help, they will stand and receive his approval.
Turn from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it.Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it.
We are Jews by nature and not sinners from the Gentiles; nevertheless, knowing that a person is not justified by works of the Law but through faith in Christ Jesus, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the Law; since by works of the Law no flesh will be justified. You and I are Jews by birth, not ‘sinners’ like the Gentiles. Yet we know that a person is made right with God by faith in Jesus Christ, not by obeying the law. And we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we might be made right with God because of our faith in Christ, not because we have obeyed the law. For no one will ever be made right with God by obeying the law.
Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.
Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and she will name Him Immanuel. All right then, the Lord himself will give you the sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel (which means ‘God is with us’).
Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.In those days when you pray, I will listen.
Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.
The reward of humility and the fear of the Lord Are riches, honor, and life.True humility and fear of the Lord lead to riches, honor, and long life.
Both riches and honor come from You, and You rule over all, and in Your hand is power and might; and it lies in Your hand to make great and to strengthen everyone.Wealth and honor come from you alone, for you rule over everything. Power and might are in your hand, and at your discretion people are made great and given strength.
And the Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife, and clothed them. And the Lord God made clothing from animal skins for Adam and his wife.
Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you at the proper time.So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor.
In You, Lord, I have taken refuge; Let me never be put to shame; In Your righteousness rescue me.O Lord, I have come to you for protection; don’t let me be disgraced. Save me, for you do what is right.
So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.
Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him.”Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.”
But the one who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds will be revealed as having been performed in God.But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants.
