Say (2/4)

Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done.”And Jesus answered and said to them, “Truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ it will happen.”
He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”And He said to them, “Because of your meager faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”
Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted to him.
Listen, my son, accept what I say, and the years of your life will be many.Listen, my son, and accept my sayings, And the years of your life will be many.
Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’And heal those in it who are sick, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’
What shall we say, then? Is the law sinful? Certainly not! Nevertheless, I would not have known what sin was had it not been for the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”What shall we say then? Is the Law sin? Far from it! On the contrary, I would not have come to know sin except through the Law; for I would not have known about coveting if the Law had not said, “You shall not covet.”
You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am.You call Me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord’; and you are correct, for so I am.
You, however, must teach what is appropriate to sound doctrine. But as for you, proclaim the things which are fitting for sound doctrine.
For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.
I fell to the ground and heard a voice say to me, ‘Saul! Saul! Why do you persecute me?’And I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?’
“I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive. All things are permitted, but not all things are of benefit. All things are permitted, but not all things build people up.
From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”From that time Jesus began to preach and say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”
Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.”Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin.”
You may say to yourselves, “How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the Lord?” If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously, so do not be alarmed. And if you say in your heart, ‘How will we recognize the word which the Lord has not spoken?’ When the prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, and the thing does not happen or come true, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you are not to be afraid of him.
My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart. My son, pay attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. They are not to escape from your sight; Keep them in the midst of your heart.
For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand, Who says to you, ‘Do not fear, I will help you.’
Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”Jesus responded and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless someone is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check. For we all stumble in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to rein in the whole body as well.
But I tell you, do not swear an oath at all: either by heaven, for it is God’s throne; or by the earth, for it is his footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King. But I say to you, take no oath at all, neither by heaven, for it is the throne of God, nor by the earth, for it is the footstool of His feet, nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.
Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.”Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless someone is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.”
“I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but I will not be mastered by anything. All things are permitted for me, but not all things are of benefit. All things are permitted for me, but I will not be mastered by anything.
But I, with shouts of grateful praise, will sacrifice to you. What I have vowed I will make good. I will say, ‘Salvation comes from the Lord.’But I will sacrifice to You With a voice of thanksgiving. That which I have vowed I will pay. Salvation is from the Lord.
Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.Truly, truly I say to you, a slave is not greater than his master, nor is one who is sent greater than the one who sent him.
Very truly I tell you, whoever accepts anyone I send accepts me; and whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me.Truly, truly I say to you, the one who receives anyone I send, receives Me; and the one who receives Me receives Him who sent Me.
You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery’; but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Above all, my brothers and sisters, do not swear—not by heaven or by earth or by anything else. All you need to say is a simple “Yes” or “No.” Otherwise you will be condemned. But above all, my brothers and sisters, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath; but your yes is to be yes, and your no, no, so that you do not fall under judgment.
