Opening his mouth, Peter said: “I most certainly understand now that God is not one to show partiality, but in every nation the one who fears Him and does what is right is acceptable to Him.” | Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him. |
Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know. | Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. |
Therefore the Lord longs to be gracious to you, And therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you. “And I will vindicate the holiness of My great name which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned among them. Then the nations will know that I am the Lord,” declares the Lord God, “when I show Myself holy among you in their sight.” | And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the Lord, saith the Lord God, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes. |
Urge slaves to be subject to their own masters in everything, to be pleasing, not argumentative, not stealing, but showing all good faith so that they will adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in every respect. | Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again; Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things. |
Do not weary yourself to gain wealth; Stop dwelling on it. | Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom. |
And He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of people.” | And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. |
Now whenever you fast, do not make a gloomy face as the hypocrites do, for they distort their faces so that they will be noticed by people when they are fasting. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. | Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. |
You shall keep My Sabbaths and revere My sanctuary; I am the Lord. | Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the Lord. |
Indeed, while following the way of Your judgments, Lord, We have waited for You eagerly; Your name, and remembering You, is the desire of our souls. | Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O Lord, have we waited for thee; the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee. |
Little children, let’s not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth. | My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. |
Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins. | And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. |
