Bible Verses about 'Sorrow'

Such godly sorrow results in repentance that leads to salvation and causes no regret, whereas worldly sorrow produces death. For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death.
For much wisdom can result in much sorrow, and those who increase their knowledge also increase their grief. The greater my wisdom, the greater my grief. To increase knowledge only increases sorrow.
The blessing of the Lord is what brings wealth, and our toil adds nothing to it.The blessing of the Lord makes a person rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.
Blessings are showered on the head of the righteous, but sorrow will cover the face of the wicked. The godly are showered with blessings; the words of the wicked conceal violent intentions.
As sorrowful, and yet we are always rejoicing; as poor, and yet we make many rich; as having nothing, and yet we possess everything. Our hearts ache, but we always have joy. We are poor, but we give spiritual riches to others. We own nothing, and yet we have everything.
Banish grief from your heart and ignore the sufferings of your body, for youth and the prime of life are fleeting. So refuse to worry, and keep your body healthy. But remember that youth, with a whole life before you, is meaningless.

He was despised and shunned by others, a man of sorrows who was no stranger to suffering. We loathed him and regarded him as of no account, as one from whom men avert their gaze.He was despised and rejected— a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care.
A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish son gives grief to his mother.A wise child brings joy to a father; a foolish child brings grief to a mother.
Although it was our afflictions that he bore, our sufferings that he endured, we thought of him as stricken, as struck down by God and afflicted.Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins!
And I heard a loud voice proclaim from the throne: “Behold, God’s dwelling is with mankind; he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and he will be their God, God-with-them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will no longer be death. Neither will there be any mourning or crying or pain, for the old order has passed away.”I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”
The love of money is the root of all evils, and in their desire for it some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many serious wounds. For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. Instead, he beat his chest in sorrow, saying, ‘O God, be merciful to me, for I am a sinner.’

Even though the fig tree does not blossom
and there is no fruit on the vines,
even though the olive crop will fail
and the orchards will yield no food,
even though the flock is cut off from the fold
and there is no herd in the stalls,
I will continue to rejoice in the Lord,
and exult in the God of my salvation.
