What is man, that you think of him? What is the son of man, that you care for him? | What is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him? |
Don’t you know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you? | Do you not realize that you are God’s temple, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? |

But there is nothing covered up that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known. | There is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing secret that will not become known. |
And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him. | And if we know that he hears us in regard to whatever we ask him, we may be sure that all we ask of him will be ours. |
I have spoken these things to you, that my joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be made full. | I have told you these things so that my joy may be in you and your joy may be complete. |
In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins. | This is what love is: not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as expiation for our sins. |
Watch yourselves, that we don’t lose the things which we have accomplished, but that we receive a full reward. | Be on your guard that you do not lose what we have worked to accomplish so that you will receive your reward in full. |
But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his works may be revealed, that they have been done in God. | However, whoever lives by the truth comes to the light so that it may be clearly seen that his deeds have been done in God. |
You shall walk in all the way which Yahweh your God has commanded you, that you may live and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you shall possess. | Continue in all of the ways that the Lord, your God, has commanded you. Continue in them so that you may live and prosper and that you may long dwell on the land of your inheritance. |
Don’t judge, so that you won’t be judged. | Do not judge, so that you in turn may not be judged. |
But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives. In the end, he will stand upon the earth. | But I know that my Redeemer lives, and that at the end he will stand upon the dust. |
That if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. | If you confess with your lips, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. |
Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? | Who indeed conquers the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? |
These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. | I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. |
Therefore concerning the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that no idol is anything in the world, and that there is no other God but one. | Now in regard to the eating of meat sacrificed to idols, we know that idols are nothing in the world and that there is only one God. |
I am coming quickly! Hold firmly that which you have, so that no one takes your crown. | I am coming soon. Hold fast to what you already have so that no one may rob you of your crown. |

I am the true vine, and my Father is the farmer. Every branch in me that doesn’t bear fruit, he takes away. Every branch that bears fruit, he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. | I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinegrower. He removes every branch that does not bear fruit, and every branch that does he prunes to make it bear even more. |
Let everything that has breath praise Yah! Praise Yah! | Let everything that breathes offer praise to the Lord. Alleluia. |
This is the boldness which we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. | And thus we can have confidence in him that if we ask anything that is in accordance with his will, he hears us. |
Knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. | For you know that the testing of your faith will develop perseverance. |
God chose the lowly things of the world, and the things that are despised, and the things that don’t exist, that he might bring to nothing the things that exist, that no flesh should boast before God. | God chose those in the world who were lowly and despised, those who count for nothing, to reduce to nothing those who were regarded as worthy, so that no one could boast in the presence of God. |
