| Oh, that they would have fear of me in their hearts and they would observe all of my commandments always. | Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill them. | Do not presume that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish, but to fulfill. |
| In other words, God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, and not holding people’s transgressions against them, and he committed to us the message of reconciliation. | Namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their wrongdoings against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation. |
