| Before the mountains were brought forth or the earth and the world came into existence, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. | Before the mountains were born, before you gave birth to the earth and the world, from beginning to end, you are God. |
| O God, you are my God, for whom I have been searching earnestly. My soul yearns for you and my body thirsts for you, like the earth when it is parched, arid and without water. | O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. It is no longer good for anything, and thus it is cast out and trampled underfoot. | You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. |
| Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not realize that Jesus Christ is in you? If he is not, then you have failed the test. | Examine yourselves to see if your faith is genuine. Test yourselves. Surely you know that Jesus Christ is among you; if not, you have failed the test of genuine faith. |

| O Lord, you are kind and forgiving, filled with kindness for all who cry to you. | O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive, so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help. |
| For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and man, Christ Jesus, himself a man. | For, There is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus. |
| For where your treasure is, there will your heart also be. | Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be. |
