- You may say in your heart, “How shall we know the word which Yahweh has not spoken?” When a prophet speaks in Yahweh’s name, if the thing doesn’t follow, nor happen, that is the thing which Yahweh has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You shall not be afraid of him.
- Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing,
and obtains favor of Yahweh. - “If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath,
from doing your pleasure on my holy day,
and call the Sabbath a delight,
and the holy of Yahweh honorable,
and honor it,
not doing your own ways,
nor finding your own pleasure,
nor speaking your own words,
then you will delight yourself in Yahweh,
and I will make you to ride on the high places of the earth,
and I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father;”
for Yahweh’s mouth has spoken it. - Know therefore today, and take it to heart, that Yahweh himself is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath. There is no one else.
- That if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
- Hear, Israel: Yahweh is our God. Yahweh is one. You shall love Yahweh your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might.
- But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from you, and we have given you of your own.
- What is man, that you think of him?
What is the son of man, that you care for him? - Yahweh said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power. Only on himself don’t stretch out your hand.” So Satan went out from the presence of Yahweh.
- My soul, you have said to Yahweh, “You are my Lord.
Apart from you I have no good thing.” - Don’t forsake your friend and your father’s friend.
Don’t go to your brother’s house in the day of your disaster.
A neighbor who is near is better than a distant brother. - Don’t let kindness and truth forsake you.
Bind them around your neck.
Write them on the tablet of your heart.
So you will find favor,
and good understanding in the sight of God and man. - But when you do merciful deeds, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand does, so that your merciful deeds may be in secret, then your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
- Don’t think that I came to send peace on the earth. I didn’t come to send peace, but a sword.
- The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger,
but those who seek Yahweh shall not lack any good thing. - Don’t think that I came to destroy the law or the prophets. I didn’t come to destroy, but to fulfill.
- For they didn’t get the land in possession by their own sword,
neither did their own arm save them;
but your right hand, your arm, and the light of your face,
because you were favorable to them. - But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you are not seen by men to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you.
- Therefore, when you do merciful deeds, don’t sound a trumpet before yourself, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may get glory from men. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward.
- For this reason you also pay taxes, for they are servants of God’s service, continually doing this very thing.
- Behold, today I am going the way of all the earth. You know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one thing has failed of all the good things which Yahweh your God spoke concerning you. All have happened to you. Not one thing has failed of it.
- Observe the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as Yahweh your God commanded you. You shall labor six days, and do all your work; but the seventh day is a Sabbath to Yahweh your God, in which you shall not do any work— neither you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your ox, nor your donkey, nor any of your livestock, nor your stranger who is within your gates; that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you.
- Let no one deceive himself. If anyone thinks that he is wise among you in this world, let him become a fool that he may become wise.
- Or do you think that I couldn’t ask my Father, and he would even now send me more than twelve legions of angels?
- If anyone among you thinks himself to be religious while he doesn’t bridle his tongue, but deceives his heart, this man’s religion is worthless.
