For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does.Indeed, we live as human beings, but we do not wage war according to human standards.
Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him.For God alone my soul waits in silence, for my hope is from him.

The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful.As for what was sown among thorns, this is the one who hears the word, but the cares of the world and the lure of wealth choke the word, and it yields nothing.
Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.Though the fig tree does not blossom, and no fruit is on the vines; though the produce of the olive fails and the fields yield no food; though the flock is cut off from the fold and there is no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will exult in the God of my salvation.
May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us— yes, establish the work of our hands.Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and prosper for us the work of our hands— O prosper the work of our hands!
