| The Lord is close to all who call on him, yes, to all who call on him in truth. | The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. |

| “What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.” | Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. |
| And when you fast, don’t make it obvious, as the hypocrites do, for they try to look miserable and disheveled so people will admire them for their fasting. I tell you the truth, that is the only reward they will ever get. | Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. |
| The Lord gives his people strength. The Lord blesses them with peace. | The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace. |
| Remember, you must not make any idols of silver or gold to rival me. | Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold. |
| And the Lord God made clothing from animal skins for Adam and his wife. | Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them. |
| For wives, this means submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For a husband is the head of his wife as Christ is the head of the church. He is the Savior of his body, the church. | Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. |

| And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption. | And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. |
| Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. | Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. |
| But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. | I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors, for you have given me wisdom and strength. You have told me what we asked of you and revealed to us what the king demanded. | I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made known unto us the king's matter. |
