| Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he kept giving the bread and fish to the disciples so they could distribute it to the people. | I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die. | I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. |

| Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. | The seed that fell among the thorns represents those who hear God’s word, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the worries of this life and the lure of wealth, so no fruit is produced. | He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful. |
| Then Jesus told them, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and don’t doubt, you can do things like this and much more. | Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised. | For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. |
| But the Scriptures declare that we are all prisoners of sin, so we receive God’s promise of freedom only by believing in Jesus Christ. | But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. |
| Above all, you must realize that no prophecy in Scripture ever came from the prophet’s own understanding, or from human initiative. No, those prophets were moved by the Holy Spirit, and they spoke from God. | For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. |
| Think about it: Just as a parent disciplines a child, the Lord your God disciplines you for your own good. | Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the Lord thy God chasteneth thee. |
| The master was full of praise. ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!’ | His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. |
