Bible Verses about Patience

People with understanding control their anger; a hot temper shows great foolishness. He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.
Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged.Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil.
Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying.Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer.
Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love.
But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently. But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Better to be patient than powerful; better to have self-control than to conquer a city.He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.
Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.
The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm. The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering.
May God, who gives this patience and encouragement, help you live in complete harmony with each other, as is fitting for followers of Christ Jesus. Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus.
For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning. For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
Listen to my voice in the morning, Lord. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly. My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
So the Lord must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the Lord is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for his help. And therefore will the Lord wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the Lord is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.
The Lord is compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
But the one who endures to the end will be saved. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
But God had mercy on me so that Christ Jesus could use me as a prime example of his great patience with even the worst sinners. Then others will realize that they, too, can believe in him and receive eternal life.Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.
But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching.Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
So you, too, must keep watch! For you don’t know what day your Lord is coming.Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take away your crown.Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.
“Don’t tear your clothing in your grief, but tear your hearts instead.” Return to the Lord your God, for he is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He is eager to relent and not punish. And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the Lord your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.
The hopes of the godly result in happiness, but the expectations of the wicked come to nothing. The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.

Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
