24 Bible Verses about Patience - NIV & KJV

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil.
Whoever is patient has great understanding,
but one who is quick-tempered displays folly.
He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding:
but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.
Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love.
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer.
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
Better a patient person than a warrior,
one with self-control than one who takes a city.
He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty;
and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.
Be still before the Lord
and wait patiently for him;
do not fret when people succeed in their ways,
when they carry out their wicked schemes.
Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him:
fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way,
because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
Wait for the Lord;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the Lord.
Wait on the Lord: be of good courage,
and he shall strengthen thine heart:
wait, I say, on the Lord.
The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering.
May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had.Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus.
For his anger lasts only a moment,
but his favor lasts a lifetime;
weeping may stay for the night,
but rejoicing comes in the morning.
For his anger endureth but a moment;
in his favour is life:
weeping may endure for a night,
but joy cometh in the morning.
In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice;
in the morning I lay my requests before you
and wait expectantly.
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord;
in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you;
therefore he will rise up to show you compassion.
For the Lord is a God of justice.
Blessed are all who wait for him!
And therefore will the Lord wait,
that he may be gracious unto you,
and therefore will he be exalted,
that he may have mercy upon you:
for the Lord is a God of judgment:
blessed are all they that wait for him.
The Lord is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger, abounding in love.
The Lord is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life.Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.
But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
Rend your heart
and not your garments.
Return to the Lord your God,
for he is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger and abounding in love,
and he relents from sending calamity.
And rend your heart,
and not your garments,
and turn unto the Lord your God:
for he is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger, and of great kindness,
and repenteth him of the evil.
Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.
But the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
