| For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so too do we believe that God will bring forth with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. | For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. |

| But our citizenship is in heaven, and from there we await our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. | For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. |
| Therefore, we can say with confidence: “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can anyone do to me?” | So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. |

| Teach us to comprehend how few our days are so that our hearts may be filled with wisdom. | So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. |
| No one has ever seen God, but if we love one another, God abides in us, and his love is made complete in us. | No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. |

| However, if we confess our sins, he who is faithful and just will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all wrongdoing. | If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. |
| By his own choice he gave us birth through the way of truth so that we may be a kind of firstfruits of all his creation. | Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. |
| There is no salvation in anyone else, nor is there any other name under heaven given to men by which we can be saved. | Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. |
| He made him who did not know sin to be sin for our sake, so that through him we might become the righteousness of God. | For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. |
| Therefore, while we have the opportunity, let us labor for the good of all, but especially for those members of the household of the faith. | As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. |
| Can anyone withhold the water of baptism from these people who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have? | Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? |
| We know that God makes all things work together for good for those who love him and who are called according to his purpose. | And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. |
| In Christ and through his blood we have redemption and the forgiveness of our sins. In accord with the riches of his grace. | In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace. |
| God’s love was revealed to us in this way: God sent his only-begotten Son into the world so that we might have life through him. | In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. |
| See what love the Father has bestowed on us, enabling us to be called the children of God, and that is what we are. If the world does not recognize us, that is because it did not know him. | Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. |
