The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. | When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears, and rescues them from all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves the crushed in spirit. |
| Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin. | Repent and turn from all your transgressions; otherwise iniquity will be your ruin. |
| But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. | But if you do not forgive others, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. |
