And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him.And, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him.
My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, Nor detest His correction; For whom the Lord loves He corrects, Just as a father the son in whom he delights.My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline, and do not resent his rebuke, because the Lord disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in.

Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. He has made everything beautiful in its time. The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way.The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him.
And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. “Then he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.’ ”In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’
He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, And he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city.
The Lord is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble; And He knows those who trust in Him.The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him.
He who covers a transgression seeks love, But he who repeats a matter separates friends.Whoever would foster love covers over an offense, but whoever repeats the matter separates close friends.
Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.”
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, The people He has chosen as His own inheritance.Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he chose for his inheritance.
For the Lord is our Judge, The Lord is our Lawgiver, The Lord is our King; He will save us.For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; it is he who will save us.
And He said to them, “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.”Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”
Then the other disciple, who came to the tomb first, went in also; and he saw and believed. For as yet they did not know the Scripture, that He must rise again from the dead.Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed. (They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.)
Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.
