It is the Lord, your God, whom you are to follow. You must fear him and observe his commandments and obey what he tells you and serve him and hold fast to him. | You shall walk after Yahweh your God, fear him, keep his commandments, and obey his voice. You shall serve him, and cling to him. |
But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, on those who trust in his kindness. | Behold, Yahweh’s eye is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his loving kindness. |
For he guards the paths of justice and keeps watch over the way of his faithful ones. | That he may guard the paths of justice, and preserve the way of his saints. |
If anyone thinks that he is religious but does not restrain his tongue, he is deceiving himself, and his religion is worthless. | If anyone among you thinks himself to be religious while he doesn’t bridle his tongue, but deceives his heart, this man’s religion is worthless. |

As a father has compassion for his children, so the Lord has compassion for those who fear him. | Like a father has compassion on his children, so Yahweh has compassion on those who fear him. |
What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his very life? Or what can he give in exchange for his life? | For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his life? Or what will a man give in exchange for his life? |
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage. | Blessed is the nation whose God is Yahweh, the people whom he has chosen for his own inheritance. |
The love of the Lord is never exhausted, nor do his deeds of mercy ever come to an end. They are renewed every morning; his faithfulness never ceases. | It is because of Yahweh’s loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his mercies don’t fail. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness. |
This is how we can be certain that we abide in him and that he abides in us: he has given us a share in his Spirit. | By this we know that we remain in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. |

I ask that from the riches of his glory he may grant through his Spirit that you be strengthened with power in your inner being and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. | That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, that you may be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inner person, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, to the end that you, being rooted and grounded in love. |

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; those who are guided by it will grow in understanding. His praise will last forever. | The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom. All those who do his work have a good understanding. His praise endures forever! |
The lips of a fool cause strife, and his mouth provokes a flogging. | A fool’s lips come into strife, and his mouth invites beatings. |
The heavens were made by the word of the Lord, and all their host by the breath of his mouth. | By Yahweh’s word, the heavens were made: all their army by the breath of his mouth. |
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many. | For the Son of Man also came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. |
Rather, seek the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. | But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. |
