“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” | For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. |
Plans go wrong for lack of advice; many advisers bring success. | Without counsel, plans go awry, But in the multitude of counselors they are established. |
|
Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed. | Commit your works to the Lord, And your thoughts will be established. |
We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps. | A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps. |
You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail. | There are many plans in a man’s heart, Nevertheless the Lord’s counsel—that will stand. |
Indeed, the Sovereign Lord never does anything until he reveals his plans to his servants the prophets. | Surely the Lord God does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets. |
May he grant your heart’s desires and make all your plans succeed. | May He grant you according to your heart’s desire, And fulfill all your purpose. |
The Lord will work out his plans for my life— for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me. | The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands. |
The Lord protects the foreigners among us. He cares for the orphans and widows, but he frustrates the plans of the wicked. | The Lord watches over the strangers; He relieves the fatherless and widow; But the way of the wicked He turns upside down. |
If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. | And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. |
O Lord, I will honor and praise your name, for you are my God. You do such wonderful things! You planned them long ago, and now you have accomplished them. | O Lord, You are my God. I will exalt You, I will praise Your name, For You have done wonderful things; Your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. |
Search for the Lord and for his strength; continually seek him. | Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face evermore! |
He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. | He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. |
Search for the Lord and for his strength; continually seek him. | Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face evermore! |
The Lord gives his people strength. The Lord blesses them with peace. | The Lord will give strength to His people; The Lord will bless His people with peace. |
I have not departed from his commands, but have treasured his words more than daily food. | I have not departed from the commandment of His lips; I have treasured the words of His mouth More than my necessary food. |
When Jesus had tasted it, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. | So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit. |
I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death. | That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death. |
Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done. | Oh, give thanks to the Lord! Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples! |
But each day the Lord pours his unfailing love upon me, and through each night I sing his songs, praying to God who gives me life. | The Lord will command His lovingkindness in the daytime, And in the night His song shall be with me— A prayer to the God of my life. |
As the Scriptures say, “A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.” | For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. |
In that wonderful day you will sing: “Thank the Lord! Praise his name! Tell the nations what he has done. Let them know how mighty he is!” | And in that day you will say: “Praise the Lord, call upon His name; Declare His deeds among the peoples, Make mention that His name is exalted.” |
The Lord is righteous in everything he does; he is filled with kindness. | The Lord is righteous in all His ways, Gracious in all His works. |
Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways! | Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! |
For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning. | For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning. |
