- Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
- Beloved, now we are children of God. It is not yet revealed what we will be; but we know that when he is revealed, we will be like him, for we will see him just as he is. Everyone who has this hope set on him purifies himself, even as he is pure.
- Charge those who are rich in this present age that they not be arrogant, nor have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on the living God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy.
- Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, proof of things not seen.
- Guide me in your truth, and teach me,
for you are the God of my salvation.

Yes, wait for Yahweh. - Blessed is the man who trusts in Yahweh,
and whose confidence is in Yahweh.
For he will be as a tree planted by the waters,
who spreads out its roots by the river,
and will not fear when heat comes,
but its leaf will be green,
and will not be concerned in the year of drought.
It won’t cease from yielding fruit. - In the multitude of my thoughts within me,
your comforts delight my soul. - But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength.
They will mount up with wings like eagles.
They will run, and not be weary.
They will walk, and not faint. - Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers.
- Because I delivered the poor who cried,
and the fatherless also, who had no one to help him,
the blessing of him who was ready to perish came on me,
and I caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy.
