John 14:19 (2/4)

  • When the Counselor has come, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will testify about me.
  • Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I don’t go away, the Counselor won’t come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.
  • When he has come, he will convict the world about sin, about righteousness, and about judgment.
  • Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full.
  • I came from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world and go to the Father.
  • I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble; but cheer up! I have overcome the world.
  • This is eternal life, that they should know you, the only true God, and him whom you sent, Jesus Christ.
  • I pray not that you would take them from the world, but that you would keep them from the evil one.
  • Father, I desire that they also whom you have given me be with me where I am, that they may see my glory which you have given me, for you loved me before the foundation of the world.
  • I made known to them your name, and will make it known; that the love with which you loved me may be in them, and I in them.
  • When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
  • So then the other disciple who came first to the tomb also entered in, and he saw and believed. For as yet they didn’t know the Scripture, that he must rise from the dead.
  • Jesus said to her, “Don’t hold me, for I haven’t yet ascended to my Father; but go to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”
  • Jesus therefore said to them again, “Peace be to you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.”
  • Jesus said to him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed.”
  • In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
  • All things were made through him. Without him, nothing was made that has been made.
  • The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn’t overcome it.
  • But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God’s children, to those who believe in his name.
  • The Word became flesh and lived among us. We saw his glory, such glory as of the only born Son of the Father, full of grace and truth.
  • No one has seen God at any time. The only born Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, has declared him.
  • I didn’t recognize him, but he who sent me to baptize in water said to me, ‘On whomever you will see the Spirit descending and remaining on him is he who baptizes in the Holy Spirit.’
  • Jesus answered him, “Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born anew, he can’t see God’s Kingdom.”
  • Jesus answered, “Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born of water and Spirit, he can’t enter into God’s Kingdom.”
  • That which is born of the flesh is flesh. That which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only born Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
