John (4/4)

In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins. This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.
Don’t love the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the Father’s love isn’t in him.Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.
In my Father’s house are many homes. If it weren’t so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?
By this we know love, because he laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters.
This is the message which we have heard from him and announce to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all.
Jesus said to him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed.”Then Jesus told him, “You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me.”
If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, even as I have kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.
Most certainly I tell you, he who receives whomever I send, receives me; and he who receives me, receives him who sent me.I tell you the truth, anyone who welcomes my messenger is welcoming me, and anyone who welcomes me is welcoming the Father who sent me.
Most certainly I tell you, a servant is not greater than his lord, neither is one who is sent greater than he who sent him.I tell you the truth, slaves are not greater than their master. Nor is the messenger more important than the one who sends the message.
Now on the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink!”On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, “Anyone who is thirsty may come to me!”
By this God’s love was revealed in us, that God has sent his only born Son into the world that we might live through him.God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him.
You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world. But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.
I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.
If anyone serves me, let him follow me. Where I am, there my servant will also be. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.Anyone who wants to serve me must follow me, because my servants must be where I am. And the Father will honor anyone who serves me.
Now, little children, remain in him, that when he appears, we may have boldness and not be ashamed before him at his coming. And now, dear children, remain in fellowship with Christ so that when he returns, you will be full of courage and not shrink back from him in shame.
I made known to them your name, and will make it known; that the love with which you loved me may be in them, and I in them.I have revealed you to them, and I will continue to do so. Then your love for me will be in them, and I will be in them.
Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will not be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only born Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
One who believes in the Son has eternal life, but one who disobeys the Son won’t see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.And anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment.
We know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and he who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him.We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.
Jesus answered him, “If a man loves me, he will keep my word. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.”Jesus replied, “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them.”
The Word became flesh and lived among us. We saw his glory, such glory as of the only born Son of the Father, full of grace and truth. So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.
He who keeps his commandments remains in him, and he in him. By this we know that he remains in us, by the Spirit which he gave us.Those who obey God’s commandments remain in fellowship with him, and he with them. And we know he lives in us because the Spirit he gave us lives in us.
I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble; but cheer up! I have overcome the world.I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.
