| You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God. | You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. |
| For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. | For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. |
| But the one who endures to the end will be saved. | But the one who endures to the end is the one who will be saved. |
| For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. | For whoever has been born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world: our faith. |

| For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. | Namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their wrongdoings against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation. |

| God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important. | Instead, let us test and examine our ways. Let us turn back to the Lord. | Let’s examine and search out our ways, And let’s return to the Lord. |
| I said to the Lord, “You are my Master! Every good thing I have comes from you.” | I said to the Lord, “You are my Lord; I have nothing good besides You.” |
| Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed. | Commit your works to the Lord, And your plans will be established. |
| Now this is what the Lord says to the family of Israel: “Come back to me and live!” | For this is what the Lord says to the house of Israel: “Seek Me so that you may live.” |
| Yes, God will bless us, and people all over the world will fear him. | God blesses us, So that all the ends of the earth may fear Him. |
| And every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. | And that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. |
