| For the Lord gave us this command when he said, ‘I have made you a light to the Gentiles, to bring salvation to the farthest corners of the earth.’ | For so the Lord has commanded us: ‘I have set you as a light to the Gentiles, That you should be for salvation to the ends of the earth.’ |
| The teaching of your word gives light, so even the simple can understand. | The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple. |

| Then, by the will of God, I will be able to come to you with a joyful heart, and we will be an encouragement to each other. | That I may come to you with joy by the will of God, and may be refreshed together with you. |

| If the person still refuses to listen, take your case to the church. Then if he or she won’t accept the church’s decision, treat that person as a pagan or a corrupt tax collector. | And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector. |
| The Lord is more pleased when we do what is right and just than when we offer him sacrifices. | To do righteousness and justice Is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. |

| Bring your confessions, and return to the Lord. Say to him, “Forgive all our sins and graciously receive us, so that we may offer you our praises.” | Take words with you, And return to the Lord. Say to Him, “Take away all iniquity; Receive us graciously, For we will offer the sacrifices of our lips.” |
| Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world. | Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! |
| The father of godly children has cause for joy. What a pleasure to have children who are wise. | The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice, And he who begets a wise child will delight in him. |
| All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer. | And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. |
| Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. | And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. |
| I will shout for joy and sing your praises, for you have ransomed me. | My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing to You, And my soul, which You have redeemed. |
| In my distress I prayed to the Lord, and the Lord answered me and set me free. | I called on the Lord in distress; The Lord answered me and set me in a broad place. |
