Everyone who sins comes from the devil, for the devil has been a sinner from the very beginning. See what love the Father has bestowed on us, enabling us to be called the children of God, and that is what we are. We also know that the Son of God has come and given us understanding so that we can know the one who is true. And we are in the one who is true, since we are in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
