| As for you, Titus, promote the kind of living that reflects wholesome teaching. | But say the things which fit sound doctrine. |

| Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. | Put on therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance. |
| So you must remain faithful to what you have been taught from the beginning. Blessed are those who wait for his help. | Therefore Yahweh will wait, that he may be gracious to you; and therefore he will be exalted, that he may have mercy on you, for Yahweh is a God of justice. Blessed are all those who wait for him. |
| Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. | But speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him who is the head, Christ. |
| But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit, and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God’s love. | But you, beloved, keep building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit. Keep yourselves in God’s love, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life. |
