Yahweh is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? Yahweh is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid? | The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom should I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom should I be afraid? |
You shall keep my Sabbaths, and have reverence for my sanctuary. I am Yahweh. | Observe my Sabbaths and stand in awe before my sanctuary. I am the Lord. |
For even though the fig tree doesn’t flourish, nor fruit be in the vines, the labor of the olive fails, the fields yield no food, the flocks are cut off from the fold, and there is no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in Yahweh. I will be joyful in the God of my salvation! | Even though the fig tree does not blossom and there is no fruit on the vines, even though the olive crop will fail and the orchards will yield no food, even though the flock is cut off from the fold and there is no herd in the stalls, I will continue to rejoice in the Lord, and exult in the God of my salvation. |
When I kept silence, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. | As long as I remained silent, my body wasted away as the result of my groaning throughout the day. |
If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, even as I have kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. | If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. |
Behold, a voice out of the heavens said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” | And a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” |
Behold, God is my helper. The Lord is the one who sustains my soul. | Surely God is my helper; the Lord is the one who sustains me. |
“Yahweh is my portion,” says my soul. “Therefore I will hope in him.” | The Lord is my portion, I say to myself; therefore, I will place my hope in him. |
But you, Yahweh, are a shield around me, my glory, and the one who lifts up my head. | But you, O Lord, are a shield to protect me; you are my glory and the one who raises my head high. |
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not my ways,” says Yahweh. | For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord. |
In this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; and so you will be my disciples. | By this is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit and become my disciples. |
If you love me, keep my commandments. | If you love me, you will keep my commandments. |
For you are my rock and my fortress, therefore for your name’s sake lead me and guide me. | You are truly my rock and my fortress; for the sake of your name, lead and guide me. |
I will lift up my eyes to the hills. Where does my help come from? My help comes from Yahweh, who made heaven and earth. | I lift up my eyes to the mountains; from where will I receive help? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. |
Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him, the saving help of my countenance, and my God. | Why are you so disheartened, O my soul? Why do you sigh within me? Place your hope in God; for I will once again praise him, my Savior and my God. |
Listen, my son, and receive my sayings. The years of your life will be many. | Listen, my son, and take my words to heart, and the years of your life will be multiplied. |
I spread out my hands to you. My soul thirsts for you, like a parched land. Selah. | I stretch out my hands to you; my soul thirsts for you like a parched land. Selah |
But as for me, I will look to Yahweh. I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me. | But as for me, I will look to the Lord. I place my hope in God my savior; my God will hear me. |
God, you are my God. I will earnestly seek you. My soul thirsts for you. My flesh longs for you, in a dry and weary land, where there is no water. | O God, you are my God, for whom I have been searching earnestly. My soul yearns for you and my body thirsts for you, like the earth when it is parched, arid and without water. |
Jesus said to her, “Don’t hold me, for I haven’t yet ascended to my Father; but go to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” | Jesus then said to her, “Do not hold on to me, because I have not yet ascended to my Father. But go to my brethren and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’ ” |
My soul, you have said to Yahweh, “You are my Lord. Apart from you I have no good thing.” | I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; I have no good apart from you.” |
Because your loving kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise you. So I will bless you while I live. I will lift up my hands in your name. | Your kindness is a greater joy than life itself; thus my lips will speak your praise. I will bless you all my life; with uplifted hands I will call on your name. |
My son, don’t forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, for they will add to you length of days, years of life, and peace. | My son, do not forget my teaching, but cherish my commandments in your heart, for they will bring you length of days, more years of life, and an abundance of prosperity. |
Hear my prayer, Yahweh. Listen to my petitions. In your faithfulness and righteousness, relieve me. | O Lord, hear my prayer, incline your ear to my supplications. In your faithfulness respond to me with your righteousness. |
