The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom should I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom should I be afraid? | The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom should I fear? The Lord is the defense of my life; Whom should I dread? |
If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. | If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love. |
As long as I remained silent, my body wasted away as the result of my groaning throughout the day. | When I kept silent about my sin, my body wasted away Through my groaning all day long. |
The Lord is my portion, I say to myself; therefore, I will place my hope in him. | “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I wait for Him.” |
By this is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit and become my disciples. | My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples. |

But as for me, I will look to the Lord. I place my hope in God my savior; my God will hear me. | But as for me, I will be on the watch for the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me. |
