| Never let loyalty and kindness leave you! Tie them around your neck as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart. Perhaps even yet the Lord will protect you— protect you from his anger on that day of destruction. | Seek the Lord, all you humble of the land, who do his commands; seek righteousness, seek humility; perhaps you may be hidden on the day of the Lord's wrath. |
| Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing wrong. Let them turn to the Lord that he may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously. | Let the wicked forsake their way, and the unrighteous their thoughts; let them return to the Lord, that he may have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. |
| So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. | To set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. |
| But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and he will stand upon the earth at last. | For I know that my Redeemer lives, and that at the last he will stand upon the earth. |
| The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers. | The end of all things is near; therefore be serious and discipline yourselves for the sake of your prayers. |
