| This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it; for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success. | Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. |

| Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established. | Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed. |
| May he grant you your heart’s desire, and fulfill all your counsel. | May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed. |
| He lays up sound wisdom for the upright. He is a shield to those who walk in integrity. | He holds success in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless. |
| Then I saw all the labor and achievement that is the envy of a man’s neighbor. This also is vanity and a striving after wind. | And I saw that all toil and all achievement spring from one person’s envy of another. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind. |
| Let the favor of the Lord our God be on us. Establish the work of our hands for us. Yes, establish the work of our hands. | May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us— yes, establish the work of our hands. |
| Don’t let kindness and truth forsake you. Bind them around your neck. Write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor, and good understanding in the sight of God and man. | Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. |
| Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed. | Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. |
| And keep the instruction of Yahweh your God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, his commandments, his ordinances, and his testimonies, according to that which is written in the law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn yourself. | Observe what the Lord your God requires: Walk in obedience to him, and keep his decrees and commands, his laws and regulations, as written in the Law of Moses. Do this so that you may prosper in all you do and wherever you go. |
