| Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed. | Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. |
| For which of you, desiring to build a tower, doesn’t first sit down and count the cost, to see if he has enough to complete it? | Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it? |

| “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.” | For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. |
| A man’s heart plans his course, but Yahweh directs his steps. | In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps. |

| Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established. | Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed. |

| “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not my ways,” says Yahweh. | “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. |
| Don’t weary yourself to be rich. In your wisdom, show restraint. | Do not wear yourself out to get rich; do not trust your own cleverness. |

| Surely the Lord Yahweh will do nothing, unless he reveals his secret to his servants the prophets. | Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets. |
| Don’t envy the man of violence. Choose none of his ways. For the perverse is an abomination to Yahweh, but his friendship is with the upright. | Do not envy the violent or choose any of their ways. For the Lord detests the perverse but takes the upright into his confidence. |
