| For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. | For this day in the city of David there has been born to you a Savior who is Christ, the Lord. |
| Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. | Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. | Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God. | Take care, brethren, that none of you will ever have an evil and unbelieving heart that will cause you to forsake the living God. |
| While you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God. | Enriched in every way, you will be able to practice all your acts of generosity, which, through our intervention, will result in thanksgiving to God. |
| I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance. | In the same way, I tell you, there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance. |
| So shall the knowledge of wisdom be to your soul; If you have found it, there is a prospect, And your hope will not be cut off. | In much the same manner will wisdom be sweet to your soul. If you find it, you will have a future, and your hope will not be cut off. |
| Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap, which have neither storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds? | Consider the ravens. | For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, And abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You. | O Lord, you are kind and forgiving, filled with kindness for all who cry to you. |
| A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. | Some friends can lead us to ruin, but a true friend is closer than a brother. |
| For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known. | There is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing secret that will not become known. |
| But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, From everlasting. | But from you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, among the tiniest of the clans of Judah, from you will come forth for me one who is to be a ruler in Israel, one whose origins are from the distant past, from ancient times. |
| And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins. | She will give birth to a son, and you shall name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins. |
| Therefore know this day, and consider it in your heart, that the Lord Himself is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath; there is no other. | So today acknowledge it and take it to heart that the Lord is God in the heavens above and on the earth below. There is no other. |
| There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. | Hence, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death. |
