All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. | You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is good for you. And even though “I am allowed to do anything,” I must not become a slave to anything. |
And the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence. | God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important. As a result, no one can ever boast in the presence of God. |
But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. | But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets. |
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. | This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! |
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. | For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. |
But as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine. | As for you, Titus, promote the kind of living that reflects wholesome teaching. |
And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive. | You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it. |
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. | Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. |
For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God. | For every house has a builder, but the one who built everything is God. |
For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. | No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit. |
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. | But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you. |
But He said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” | He replied, “What is impossible for people is possible with God.” |
But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. | Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. |

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. | No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. |
All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. | God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. |
His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ | The master was full of praise. ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!’ |
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? | What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? |
Receive one who is weak in the faith, but not to disputes over doubtful things. | Accept other believers who are weak in faith, and don’t argue with them about what they think is right or wrong. |
Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” | “What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.” |
Sing to the Lord, For He has done excellent things; This is known in all the earth. | Sing to the Lord, for he has done wonderful things. Make known his praise around the world. |
Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common. | All the believers were united in heart and mind. And they felt that what they owned was not their own, so they shared everything they had. |
Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil. | But test everything that is said. Hold on to what is good. Stay away from every kind of evil. |
For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen. | For everything comes from him and exists by his power and is intended for his glory. All glory to him forever! Amen. |
But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. | The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers. |
