Bible Verses about Planning
Commit your works to the Lord, And your thoughts will be established. | Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed. |
For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it? | But don’t begin until you count the cost. For who would begin construction of a building without first calculating the cost to see if there is enough money to finish it? |
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. | “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” |
A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps. | We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps. |

Without counsel, plans go awry, But in the multitude of counselors they are established. | Plans go wrong for lack of advice; many advisers bring success. |

To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven. | For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. |
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. | “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.” |
Do not overwork to be rich; Because of your own understanding, cease! | Don’t wear yourself out trying to get rich. Be wise enough to know when to quit. |
So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom. | Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom. |
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts. | For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts. |
This also comes from the Lord of hosts, Who is wonderful in counsel and excellent in guidance. | The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is a wonderful teacher, and he gives the farmer great wisdom. |
But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. | But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets. |
Do not envy the oppressor, And choose none of his ways; For the perverse person is an abomination to the Lord, But His secret counsel is with the upright. | Don’t envy violent people or copy their ways. Such wicked people are detestable to the Lord, but he offers his friendship to the godly. |
Surely the Lord God does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets. | Indeed, the Sovereign Lord never does anything until he reveals his plans to his servants the prophets. |
