| O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive, so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help. | For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, And abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You. |
| You have tested us, O God; you have purified us like silver. | For You, O God, have tested us; You have refined us as silver is refined. |

| For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps. | For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps. |
| Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. | Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. |
