Bible Verses about 'Worry'

So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers a person up.Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.
That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food to eat or enough clothes to wear. For life is more than food, and your body more than clothing.Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on. The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
But when you are arrested and stand trial, don’t worry in advance about what to say. Just say what God tells you at that time, for it is not you who will be speaking, but the Holy Spirit. But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.
And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own?And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
So refuse to worry, and keep your body healthy. But remember that youth, with a whole life before you, is meaningless. Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh: for childhood and youth are vanity.
Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
But even if you suffer for doing what is right, God will reward you for it. So don’t worry or be afraid of their threats. But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled.
Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer. In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.
Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me.Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
The greater my wisdom, the greater my grief. To increase knowledge only increases sorrow. For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow.
You know what I long for, Lord; you hear my every sigh.Lord, all my desire is before thee; and my groaning is not hid from thee.
And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.
The rich can pay a ransom for their lives, but the poor won’t even get threatened. The ransom of a man's life are his riches: but the poor heareth not rebuke.
The seed that fell among the thorns represents those who hear God’s word, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the worries of this life and the lure of wealth, so no fruit is produced. He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
Job stood up and tore his robe in grief. Then he shaved his head and fell to the ground to worship. He said, “I came naked from my mother’s womb, and I will be naked when I leave. The Lord gave me what I had, and the Lord has taken it away. Praise the name of the Lord!”Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped, And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.
Look at the ravens. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for God feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than any birds!Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?
But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and he will stand upon the earth at last. For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth.
For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death. For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

Bible verse of the day

He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit.
