12 Bible Verses about Debt - NIV & ESV

Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.
Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back.Give to everyone who begs from you, and from one who takes away your goods do not demand them back.
The wicked borrow and do not repay,
but the righteous give generously.
The wicked borrows but does not pay back,
but the righteous is generous and gives.
Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed.
Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it?
Dishonest money dwindles away,
but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow.
Wealth gained hastily will dwindle,
but whoever gathers little by little will increase it.
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”.
For the Lord your God will bless you as he has promised, and you will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. You will rule over many nations but none will rule over you.For the Lord your God will bless you, as he promised you, and you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow, and you shall rule over many nations, but they shall not rule over you.
The rich rule over the poor,
and the borrower is slave to the lender.
The rich rules over the poor,
and the borrower is the slave of the lender.
Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due,
when it is in your power to act.
Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due,
when it is in your power to do it.
And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.
