Therefore, treat the parts of your earthly body as dead to sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry. | Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. |
You lust and do not have, so you commit murder. And you are envious and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have because you do not ask. | You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. |
The world is passing away and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God continues to live forever. | And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever. |

Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. | Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. |
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. | For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. |
Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. | Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge. |
For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love. | For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. |
As the deer pants for the water brooks, So my soul pants for You, God. | As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God. |
Keep watching and praying, so that you do not come into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. | Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. |
No temptation has overtaken you except something common to mankind; and God is faithful, so He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it. | No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. |
No one is to say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone. | Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. |

Even if the fig tree does not blossom,And there is no fruit on the vines,
If the yield of the olive fails,
And the fields produce no food,
Even if the flock disappears from the fold,
And there are no cattle in the stalls,
Yet I will triumph in the Lord,
I will rejoice in the God of my salvation.Next verse! With image
