Bible Verses about Giving

Each person should give as much as he has decided in his heart, not with reluctance or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
But who am I, and what are your people, that we should be able to do this? All things belong to you, and everything that we have given you is from your hand. But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee.
A gift opens doors for the giver and wins him access to the powerful.A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.
A generous person will be enriched; he who refreshes others will also be refreshed. The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.
As long as the goodwill is present, the gift will be acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have. For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.
Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be poured into your lap. The measure that you use for others will be used to measure you.Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your crops.Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase.
The one who provides seed for sowing and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed and increase the harvest of your righteousness. Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness.
Enriched in every way, you will be able to practice all your acts of generosity, which, through our intervention, will result in thanksgiving to God.Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.
And God is able to enrich you with an abundance of every grace, so that, with all of your needs provided for, you may be able to produce a surplus of good works. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.
Do not withhold kindness from anyone to whom it is due when it is in your power to grant it.Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.
Bring the tithes in full into the treasury so that there may be food in my house. Put me thus to the test, says the Lord of hosts, and see if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down blessings upon you without measure.Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
Therefore, whenever you give alms, do not trumpet your generosity, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets in order to win the praise of others. Amen, I say to you, they have already received their reward. Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
Give to everyone who begs from you, and do not demand the return of what is yours from the one who has taken it.Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.
Take delight in the Lord, and he will grant you what your heart desires.Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
All day long the godless man continues to covet, whereas the righteous man gives unsparingly. He coveteth greedily all the day long: but the righteous giveth and spareth not.
Jesus replied, “If you wish to be perfect, go, sell your possessions, and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
If I give away everything to feed the poor and hand over my body to be burned, but do not have love, I achieve nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
The wicked man borrows but neglects to repay, whereas the righteous man is generous in giving. The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth.
Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. You received without payment; give in the same way.Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. Your almsgiving must be done in secret. And your Father who sees everything that is done in secret will reward you.But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
Then Nehemiah added: “You now may go. Eat rich food and drink what is sweet. Moreover, send some of these to those for whom nothing has been prepared, for this day is holy to our Lord. Furthermore, do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength.
Speak out and pronounce righteous judgments; defend the rights of the wretched and the poor.Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.
Remember this: if you sow sparingly, you will reap sparingly, and if you sow generously, you will reap generously as well. But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
He said to them in reply, “Anyone who has two coats must share with the person who has none, and whoever has food must do likewise.”He answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise.
