The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God. | For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. |
God is not a man, that He would lie, Nor a son of man, that He would change His mind; Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? | God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through? |
“Can a person hide himself in hiding places So that I do not see him?” declares the Lord. “Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?” declares the Lord. | “Can anyone hide from me in a secret place? Am I not everywhere in all the heavens and earth?” says the Lord. |

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, The people He has chosen for His own inheritance. | What joy for the nation whose God is the Lord, whose people he has chosen as his inheritance. |
