Law (2/5)

And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also. And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their fellow believers.
For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God.
If ye love me, keep my commandments. If you love me, obey my commandments.
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.
What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.Well then, am I suggesting that the law of God is sinful? Of course not! In fact, it was the law that showed me my sin. I would never have known that coveting is wrong if the law had not said, “You must not covet.”
The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power.
And keep the charge of the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself.Observe the requirements of the Lord your God, and follow all his ways. Keep the decrees, commands, regulations, and laws written in the Law of Moses so that you will be successful in all you do and wherever you go.
Judge not, that ye be not judged.Do not judge others, and you will not be judged.
For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. For the commandments say, “You must not commit adultery. You must not murder. You must not steal. You must not covet.” These—and other such commandments—are summed up in this one commandment: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone. He proclaimed his covenant—the Ten Commandments—which he commanded you to keep, and which he wrote on two stone tablets.
Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them. Those who love your instructions have great peace and do not stumble.
Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold.Remember, you must not make any idols of silver or gold to rival me.
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.
Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.Love does no wrong to others, so love fulfills the requirements of God’s law.
But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.
The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall. The wise are glad to be instructed, but babbling fools fall flat on their faces.
And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.Those who obey God’s commandments remain in fellowship with him, and he with them. And we know he lives in us because the Spirit he gave us lives in us.
We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments. But we have sinned and done wrong. We have rebelled against you and scorned your commands and regulations.
Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee. You must diligently obey the commands of the Lord your God—all the laws and decrees he has given you.
Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.Listen, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength.
I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches.I have rejoiced in your laws as much as in riches.
He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?I ask you again, does God give you the Holy Spirit and work miracles among you because you obey the law? Of course not! It is because you believe the message you heard about Christ.
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. That’s the whole story. Here now is my final conclusion: Fear God and obey his commands, for this is everyone’s duty.
There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?God alone, who gave the law, is the Judge. He alone has the power to save or to destroy. So what right do you have to judge your neighbor?
Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.Praise the Lord! How joyful are those who fear the Lord and delight in obeying his commands.

I will never forget thy precepts: for with them thou hast quickened me.I will never forget your commandments, for by them you give me life.
