Law (3/5)

Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.Praise the Lord! How joyful are those who fear the Lord and delight in obeying his commands.
Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace.
Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.Listen, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength.
The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. The instructions of the Lord are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom. All who obey his commandments will grow in wisdom. Praise him forever!
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain: for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. You must not misuse the name of the Lord your God. The Lord will not let you go unpunished if you misuse his name.
Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, and not to covetousness.Give me an eagerness for your laws rather than a love for money!
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose.
Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever. The very essence of your words is truth; all your just regulations will stand forever.
We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles, Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. You and I are Jews by birth, not ‘sinners’ like the Gentiles. Yet we know that a person is made right with God by faith in Jesus Christ, not by obeying the law. And we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we might be made right with God because of our faith in Christ, not because we have obeyed the law. For no one will ever be made right with God by obeying the law.
For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. This is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another.
And if a soul sin, and commit any of these things which are forbidden to be done by the commandments of the Lord; though he wist it not, yet is he guilty, and shall bear his iniquity.Suppose you sin by violating one of the Lord’s commands. Even if you are unaware of what you have done, you are guilty and will be punished for your sin.
Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.Everyone who sins is breaking God’s law, for all sin is contrary to the law of God.
He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.
I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die.
I am the Lord your God; walk in my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them; And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the Lord your God.‘I am the Lord your God,’ I told them. ‘Follow my decrees, pay attention to my regulations, and keep my Sabbath days holy, for they are a sign to remind you that I am the Lord your God.’
I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments. As I learn your righteous regulations, I will thank you by living as I should!
Therefore shall ye keep my commandments, and do them: I am the Lord. You must faithfully keep all my commands by putting them into practice, for I am the Lord.
The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. The commandments of the Lord are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are clear, giving insight for living.
The way of the Lord is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity. The way of the Lord is a stronghold to those with integrity, but it destroys the wicked.
My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.My child, never forget the things I have taught you. Store my commands in your heart. If you do this, you will live many years, and your life will be satisfying.
Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.Do not add to or subtract from these commands I am giving you. Just obey the commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you.
Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. So if you ignore the least commandment and teach others to do the same, you will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But anyone who obeys God’s laws and teaches them will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.
He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die.Keep the commandments and keep your life; despising them leads to death.

Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: for they are the rejoicing of my heart.Your laws are my treasure; they are my heart’s delight.
